Now for Tempeh Salad Ingredients

What makes it extra tasty is the marinated crispy tempeh.  The red sweet beets add a very delicious flavor as well. If you are very busy and just want a quick meal then simple tempeh will work fine too.

Tempeh truly is a nutritious superfood full of health benefits including good protein and vitamin B12.  For vegans, it can be challenging to get enough B12. Beans and lentils are full of good nutrition and have many health benefits but they do not have the essential vitamin B12.  Tempeh has the same protein quality as meat and is helpful in reducing cancer, is a powerful probiotic, helps with weight loss, and more.

Romaine Lettuce

Why Romaine Lettuce is the Best

The most nourishing lettuce is Romaine lettuceAn ordinary salad becomes very tasty with crispy and refreshing Romaine lettuce.  It has been called ‘the perfect weight loss food’ and ‘rabbit food’ but it is so much more. With amazing healing benefits and 20% protein by calories, it could be called ‘gorilla food’ instead.  It is low in calories and high in fiber and cellulose. It is heart-healthy and has a great ratio of omega-3 fatty acids.  Lettuce is a great alkaline-forming food that is low on the glycemic index.

beets with some topsA single serving of beets can boost your energy and lower your blood pressure. Eating beets long-term can help fight cancer, reduce arthritic pain, lose weight and assist in a number of other health areas.

Carrots add a tasty orange crunchiness to this tempeh salad. They are a superfood, you get Vitamin A and a host of other powerful health benefits including beautiful skin, cancer prevention, and anti-aging.

Pumpkin Seeds

Pumpkin seeds are so good that I add them to many of my meals. The bonus nutrient value is that they are the only seed that is alkaline-forming.

Sprouts offer lots of great health benefits including; plant sources of protein, High Energy food, Powerful Minerals, and needed vitamins.  And the best part is that they are easy and inexpensive to make your own.  Learn how to sprout your own nuts and seeds.

Olive Oil

Olive oil was referred to as “Liquid Gold” by the famous Greek poet Homer.  If you are what you eat, what would happen if you consumed “Liquid Gold” daily?  Extra-virgin olive oil (cold-pressed) is the best fat to use as a salad dressing.

Olive Oil Fraud

Do not use it for cooking.  It has a low smoke point and heat makes it susceptible to oxidative damage.  Olive oil has so many health benefits I include some every day when I eat my salad. Make sure you are using real olive oil. Have you heard of the olive oil fraud?

Olive Oil Lemon Juice Salad DressingHere is the recipe for my Olive Oil Lemon Juice Salad Dressing.

It tastes great on the tempeh salad. This olive oil lemon juice salad dressing is always enjoyed by everyone who has it with one of my salads. This is why I created the exact recipe years ago.

I love to eat salads with a healthy salad dressing and always make my own salad dressings.  It is the salad dressing that makes it a healthy or unhealthy salad.   A healthy salad is often ruined by drenching it with a highly-processed salad dressing from the supermarket which is not healthy as it is filled with artificial flavorings, colorings, preservatives, sugar, and white distilled vinegar (which is hard on the digestive system).
