Crispy Tasty Tofu is a Great Addition to Meals

I enjoy adding crispy tasty tofu to a meal. It adds a vegan protein which is actually good for us. You can get tofu in most health food stores; it is also Bean Curd and can be bought in Chinese markets.  Make sure it is organic and not GMO.

Crispy Tasty Tofu Recipe

Ingredients:

1 square Tofu
Almond oil
Tamari, Braggs or Soya sauce
2 Green onions

Directions:

  1. Wrap tofu in a clean tea towel or paper towels for 10 minutes to remove excess moisture.
  2. Slice tofu into 1/2 inch thick slices.
  3. Place into a hot oiled frying pan.
  4. Fry until golden brown on one side.
  5. Turn the heat off for 1 minute before turning tofu slices over.
  6. Turn and fry on the other side until golden brown.
  7. Sprinkle tamari liberally over tofu.
  8. Turn tofu over again, sprinkling the other side with more tamari.
  9. Turn over once more.
  10. Remove from pan.
  11. Serve with chopped green onions.
  12. Great on top of salads or Soba Soup.
