The cells in our body are always busy producing waste so cleansing within our body naturally takes place to keep it functioning.  Unfortunately it often is overworked and does not do its job. That’s why we do a detox.  

Spring is one of the best times to detox.  We all know about ‘spring cleaning’.   Just as our house needs a thorough cleaning of all the corners of our home to freshen it for summer, so does our body.   

Why is Spring a Good Time to Detox?

  • Spring brings new growth and regeneration so it is a good time to refresh our systems.
  • Waste builds up during the winter so we need to clean out.
  • According to the Chinese, spring is the time to cleanse and nourish the liver!
  • The transition from winter to spring is a great time to move towards losing weight and cleanse accumulated toxins from the body.

Summer is also a great time to detox because the weather is warm, the days are long, and it is easy to eat the cooling summer foods that are in season.

Why is Summer a Good Time to Detox?

  • When it is warm, it is easier for the body to be in a detox process.
  • Eating raw and light food is what we already crave in the summer.
  • There are so many fresh organic fruit and vegetables are more available so you can eat a wide variety of fresh produce.
  • Watermelon is in season and it is one of the best food to detox with.
  • When it is hot outside, we are eliminating by sweating and this means we are naturally releasing toxins.
  • We all like to look great in shorts or a bathing suit so there is motivation.
  • You may have a lighter workload, so summer can be the perfect time for you to detox all of you….your body, mind and soul.

Autumn is also a good time to do a very gentle detox to help us through the harshness of winter.
