Powerful Anti-Inflammatory Salad Recipe Ingredients:

Spinach, a Superfood for Popeye and You

Did you know that Spinach was a superfood even before there was the term superfood.  I’m referring of course to Popeye the Sailor Man. One can of the green stuff and he turned into muscle popping tornado of energy. Even without Popeye’s recommendation, spinach contains more nutrients per calorie than any other food on the earth. It is loaded with vitamins like A, K, D, and E and a host of trace minerals and is a good source of omega 3 fatty acid and this anti-inflammatory salad helps you get a serving of spinach into your day in a tasty way.

Arugula with its aromatic, peppery flavour adds a wonderful dimension to a salad and to your sex life too. It is also known by other names such as salad rocket, garden rocket, roquette, rucola, rugula, or colewort. It is creat for cleansing and detoxifying the body as well as reducing inflammation.

ParsleyParsley Hemp Heart Pesto

Parsley is a very popular herb that is actually a superfood. Mostly we see it as something that decorates a food dish, especially in a restaurant. The truth is that it adds a subtle flavour to many recipes including this anti-inflammatory salad,

The celery in this recipe has amazing benefits. It is alkalizing, easy to digest, high in fiber and low in calories. It gives a little crunch to this anti-inflammatory salad.

beets with some topsA single serving of beets can boost your energy and lower your blood pressure. Eating beets long-term can help fight cancer, reduce arthritic pain, lose weight and assist in a number of other health areas.

Bell Peppers

Bell Peppers
Sweet Colourful Bell Peppers are Full of Health Benefits

Bright colored Bell peppers are my favourite; I think that is because they are sweeter. The peppers have 2 times as much vitamin C as oranges; red and yellow peppers have 4 times as much.

Dulse Seaweed Flakes

One of my favourite condiments is seaweed flakes which I use instead of salt.

Dulse is red in colour and has a delicious fresh crisp flavor. Get the dried granules to sprinkle on food either during cooking or at the table like on this anti-inflammatory salad.
