Saskatoon Crumble

As you will know by reading my article Saskatoons are the Best Berries, they are my favourite berry and I am happy to eat them just as they are.  For fun, I do also enjoy a Saskatoon crumble or pie. Here is my yummy crumble recipe.

Ingredients

Saskatoon Berry Base

  • 3 cups saskatoons
  • 1/2 tsp liquid stevia
  • 1/2 cup water

Crumble Topping

  • 1/2 cup brown rice flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tsp Himalayan salt
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup rice syrup
  • 1/2 tsp light liquid stevia

Instructions

Saskatoon Berry Base

  • Mix the water and liquid Stevia together.
  • Mix in the saskatoon berries.
  • Place the berry mixture in a baking dish.

Crumble Topping

  • Mix all of the dry ingredients together
  • Mix the vegetable oil, Stevia, and rice syrup together and add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients.
  • Mix thoroughly.
  • Sprinkle the crumble on top of the fruit and pat down gently.
  • Bake the crumble at 350º F. in the oven for approximately 40 minutes.
