Buckwheat with Sunflower seeds Is Warming
This buckwheat recipe is simple and nutritious! It is gluten-free and is not a grain, it is a seed. Also, it is warming and so great for the winter.
- 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
- 1 cup buckwheat groats
- 1/2 tsp Himalayan salt
- 2 cups water
- 2-5 mushrooms optional
Dry sauté the sunflowers seeds in a sauce pan.
Add the buckwheat after a few minutes.
Sauté until golden brown.
Add the salt and water.
Bring to a boil and cover with a tight lid.
Simmer until all the water is absorbed – approximately 40 minutes.
Serve with vegetables. This tastes delicious with the simple addition of sauteed mushrooms.
Optional: Slice the mushrooms and sautee in a pan with some salt to taste and then sprinkle over the dish when ready to serve your buckwheat with sunflower seeds.
