Seaweed Recipe for Health

This is a great addition to any meal especially if you like ginger and carrots.

Arame is a dark brown sea vegetable when fresh and blackish when dried.  Like all other dried seaweed, it is very rich in minerals, particularly calcium and protein (7.5%).  Arame seaweed can be used as a substitute for wakame or hijiki in many applications.

Carrots – forget about Vitamin A pills. With this orange crunchy superfood, you get Vitamin A and a host of other powerful health benefits including beautiful skin, cancer prevention, and anti-aging.

Ginger is a wonderful herb superfood full of health benefits. Spicy aromatic ginger adds a unique flavour to meals and beverages.  The many wonderful health benefits of ginger also cause the cells of my body to glow with gratitude.

Tamari  is a premium form of Japanese soy sauce made with just fermented soybeans. Made with 100% whole soybeans and no wheat, Ohsawa Organic Tamari is an excellent choice for those who are wheat-sensitive.

Ingredients:

½ cup arame

2 – 3 tbsp. tamari

½ tbsp. fresh ginger, grated

3 – 5 carrots cut into match stick lengths

 

Directions:

  1. Cover arame with water.
  2. Soak arame for 10 minutes.
  3. Boil, uncovered, arame, tamari, and grated ginger gently till most of the liquid has evaporated.
  4. Add the carrots.
  5. Cover and cook till carrots are slightly tender.
  6. Remove lid and cook till all the water has evaporated.
