8 Foods and Spices to Keep You Cool

With the hot heat of summer we can easily become dehydrated, over heated and fatigued. Here are a few foods and spices to beat the heat.

  1. Watermelon

Watermelon is made up of 90 percent water, helping you keep hydrated and that reduces body heat to a great extent.

  1. Cucumber

Cool as a cucumber! It has a very high water content which helps fight heat, both inside and out. Eating a cucumber will give you relief from heartburn. If you apply cucumber to sunburned skin, you will get relief.

  1. Mint

Mint tea is a traditional tea in many desert countries (Morocco, Turkey, and Egypt are a few). That must say something about it being cooling. Mint is cool, refreshing, and energising.

  1. Citrus Fruits

Oranges, grapefruit, lemons and limes, are among the most cooling fruits. They are juicy making them hydrating.

  1. Radish

They have very high water content and are full of Vitamin C, an antioxidant that lowers body heat. Radishes are naturally cooling; their pungent flavor is regarded in eastern medicine as the ability to decrease excess heat in the body.

  1. Coriander

Ayurvedic medicine considers coriander one of the most cooling spices. Make a tea with coriander and drink to lower body heat.

  1. Fennel Seeds

They are a cooling spice for the body and the combination of nutrients that make it a powerful antioxidant. Soak fennel seeds in water overnight, strain and drink the water the next day to lower body heat.

  1. Coconut Water

Great way to keep hydrated and to reduce body heat is with a glass of coconut water. Coconut water balances out naturally the electrolytes.

    First off, Thanks a lot for your valuable tips here for us.The provided 8 simple homemade remedies are really helpful for us especially who is suffering from body heat problem. Sometimes i feel body heat during summer time. After returning home from office I usually face body heat problem. When i face this I usually drink cool Watermelon, Sugarcane juice or Beal fruit juice to reduce my body heat. This is very effective for me.
